The story of a famous chamber singer, who finds in life every humiliation and intrigue he sings about on stage.

Henriette Lange lives only for the theater in Berlin around 1900. Her grandfather, however, has no understanding for this. He is a prompter and knows all about the hustle and bustle of the theater. Her friend, the chorus girl Liesbeth, is heartbroken because the revue star Vera Schreyvogel has his eye on her boyfriend Hans Reuter. But Liesbeth soon consoles herself with someone else, and Mrs. Schreyvogel is quickly forgotten. For Hans Reuter too, because he now loves Henriette. Liesbeth is dismissed without notice because she has fallen out with Mrs. Schreyvogel, and Henriette now has to sing her part. Her dream finally comes true. As she sings blissfully, she sees the Schreyvogel hugging her Hans in the background. She gets stuck in the middle of the song - her career is over! But not with love: she has conquered her Hans forever.

Officers stationed in a castle in Flandes during WWI are comforted by Gloria Delamare's recorded voice. One of them even writes her a letter that will never be sent. When the war is over Miss Delamare takes a tour in Belgium and spends a night in that castle. Most unexpectedly her former admirer appears and they dine and dance together. In the morning he has disappeared and she finds the letter. She tries to find him, only to discover he is presumably dead and involved in a family secret.

Endstation offers the American viewer tantalizing glimpses of busy, bustling mid-1930s Vienna. Otherwise, this minor yarn of an amorous streetcar conductor is strictly formula material. The film benefits from the star power of Paul Horbiger, resplendently garbed in an elaborate conductor's uniform. Also worth noting is the performance of Maria Andergest as the woebegone hatmaker whose fate is inextricably linked with hero Horbiger. Incidentally though the direction is credited with one E. W. Emo, Paul Horbiger actually called most of the shots on Endstation.

Nacht der Verwandlung (A Night of Change) stars Gustav Froelich as a globe-circling aviator, a character clearly based on America's Wiley Post. While basking in his celebrity at a nighttime carnival, Froelich romances Rose Stradner, the unhappy wife of brutish Heinrich George. When George refuses to give Stradner her freedom, she takes it anyway, but her fling with Froelich is doomed to disappointment. Our hero learns the hard way that one can be in a teeming crowd, yet still be all alone. Leading lady Stradner later resettled in Hollywood, where she appeared in such films as The Last Gangster and Keys to the Kingdom.

The death of the Prime Minister causes a stir in the society of a small ducal residence. While Lord Chamberlain von Gillzing hopes to become the deceased's successor, Weber, his former secretary, is relegated to a minor post as archivist. Baroness von Windegg, previously known as the Prime Minister's mistress, also fears losing her social standing. But when the Baroness hands the archivist a thick package, which Gillzing believes contains the late Prime Minister's diaries, both she and the archivist suddenly find themselves in high demand, and everyone in town fears being mentioned in the diary in some compromising way.

A woman discovers after she has just married him, that her husband is abusive, and she tries to get away.

The mustached ruler of a mythical principality, learning that his people dislike his spending so much time going hunting, allows his twin brother to take his place.
