Seven friends living in the same neighborhood with different aims form a gang to rob gas stations in pursuit of their shared desire for money. The film serves as a critique of the socio-economic situation of Türkiye and the approach to the "American Dream" in the period of time before May 27th.

During a day of deer hunting, Karaca Ali Aga (Talat Gözbak) finds a girl wandering around, and immediately falls in love with her. Some time later, when Aga goes back to marry her, he instructs his men to eliminate the obstacle, namely Halil (Yilmaz Güney)...

The film tells the story of the love triangle between Zehra, Ömer, and Meral. Zehra lost her family in a traffic accident and considers the islanders her family. Ömer, the son of Mustafa the greengrocer, is in love with Meral, the daughter of a wealthy family. However, he believes his love is impossible and wants to commit suicide. Just as he is about to jump off the cliffs into the sea after writing a letter, Zehra arrives. She tells him he must confess his love to her. Upon hearing this, Ömer speaks with Meral, and their relationship begins. Zehra, who is the greatest contributor to Ömer and Meral's happiness, ignores the desires of her own heart.

Considering the conditions of the period in which it was filmed, it is a fairly realistic film. The location is not specified, but I think it is somewhere around Adana. It is a rice field where female agricultural workers are working. A ruthless landlord and a son who is just as evil as his father. One of the female workers, who stands out for her beauty (Melek Görgün), catches the attention of both the landlord and his son. She flees due to the pressure she faces, and her path crosses with that of a young man (Salih Güney) who has suffered at the hands of the landlord, had his land taken away, and lost his sister. They fall in love, and the events lead to a tragic ending. In keeping with classic Yeşilçam screenplays, you expect Salih Güney to avenge his sister's death and reunite with Melek Görgün (or for the woman to die).

Çarşambayı Sel Aldı is a 1970 film directed by Mehmet Aslan, starring Yıldıray Çınar in the lead role.
