Andrea Cecilia Cristina Botez, born on April 6, 2002, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, is a Canadian-American chess player, Twitch streamer, YouTuber, DJ, boxer, and internet personality known for co-hosting the BotezLive channel with her older sister, Alexandra Botez. Born to Romanian immigrant parents who fled Bucharest before her sister’s birth, Andrea was raised in Vancouver, Canada, and Portland, Oregon, where her father, Andrei Botez, a chess enthusiast and engineer, taught her chess at age six. The family relocated to Oregon, United States, during Alexandra’s high school years, and Andrea later moved to New York in 2020 and Los Angeles in 2022. She attended school in Vancouver but took a gap year after graduating high school in 2020 to focus on streaming, opting not to pursue immediate university studies. Diagnosed with ADHD in December 2023, Andrea has openly discussed its impact on her multitasking streaming career. Her ethnicity is Romanian, reflecting her parents’ heritage, and she holds dual Canadian-American citizenship. She is primarily known as Andrea Botez, with her full name Andrea Cecilia Cristina Botez used in formal contexts.
