1930s aspiring writer moves to the city and works as a maid for a printing house owner. Their whirlwind romance leads to marriage, but their relationship darkens against the backdrop of growing social unrest.

An ancient leg bone is found during archeological excavations. It's soon identified as an ancient whistle for performing old buddhist rituals. To learn more about the mysterious instrument, a young scientist flees to the countryside. Before long she discovers that the enchanting sound of the whistle starts to take a strange hold of her.

Childhood friends Pääsu, Atko and Virge try to recall the last time they were all together. Turns out they remember the incident differently. Their quest to remember takes them on a visually surreal journey of memories. Not everybody remains truthful.
