Biography
Leena Lehti (1979) is a filmmaker who works in Tampere, Finland. She has graduated as a Bachelor of Media and Master of Arts. Her favourite themes are winter, proceeding, and the merging of the inner and outer worlds. Lehti is interested in enviromental politics and encounters in everyday life. She often shoots her experimental videos on cine film for its special visuality and materiality. She loves the tactile feeling of film and the flow of making hand-made effects. Lehti´s films are shown in several screenings, art exhibitions and film festivals in Europe.

"Taiga" is an elegy to boreal forest. In south Finland taiga has already started to change to temperate forest. This tactile film is made on16mm film without camera. It combines hand scratched animation with real tiny plants and moss collected in subarctic region in Finland.

Anacampsis fuscella is an endangered species of moth. The film is shot on one suburban block in the Finnish city of Tampere, where the insect lives invisibly among the city life.
