American boy Peter and blind minstrel Ivan are thrown together by fate amidst the turbulent mid-30s Soviet Ukraine.

Sashko, a soldier of a Ukrainian volunteer battalion, survives after a firing under Ilovajsk and tries to get to his fellowmen. Along the way, he meets the most unexpected companions and enemies.

The documentary drama about the formation and creative rise of Ukrainian novelist Hryhir Tiutiunnyk in the context of the work and influences of his older brother Hryhoriy. "A writer is born out of love and suffering," wrote Hryhir Tiutiunnyk. There really was no other way for a Ukrainian writer like him, and this documentary is about that.

Brothers of the kobza workshop go to the forest in search of a tree from which you can make a kobza. The picture shows all stages of production of Ukrainian traditional musical instruments. In the process, there is the daughter of one of the brothers, Nastunya, who lost her voice when her mother died, and for a long time she only mumbles her songs. When the brothers finish their work, they go to a concert dedicated to the ATO soldiers. A miracle happens during the concert - Nastun's voice returns.
