A musical comedy about worries with basketball, violin and love.

A story of a family that after WWII moved to the south of Slovakia and acquired a prosperous butcher business left behind by a Hungarian emigrant. From the previous owner, the family also inherited a self-assured, greedy assistant who does not like to observe any firm moral principles. He assists the family in gaining wealth but in the long run, he causes the family's moral dissolution. In his most successful feature film, director Zoro Záhon combined a complex drama with excellent acting performances, especially that of Hungarian actor Gábor Koncz in the lead role.

Even a top athlete, a discus thrower, faces difficulties when she has to consider her future. She seems to lack nothing: the socialist physical education provides her with all the necessary facilities to prepare for the Olympics, she trusts a responsible coach. However, when she returns to her hometown, she still considers whether she made the right decision. When she becomes pregnant, she finds herself at a crucial moment.

Contemporary satire denounces careerism, dictatorial ways, sycophancy and servility. An inconspicuous official Javorník pretends to have saved the director of the company from drowning, thanks to his qualities he gains his favor and rises in positions. He even becomes the director's brother-in-law and eventually replaces him in the position. he is given a job position for which he has absolutely no adequate skills. Javorník's professional and official rise is accompanied by his moral decline. However, another inconspicuous official appears near him and it seems that the carousel will repeat itself.

Coincidentally, the young police captain Strelková and her older colleague Lieutenant Michalek are also among the spectators. Neither of them has any idea that Vlčková has a crush on the sick Swiss industrialist Langer. However, someone threatens her with death because of her intended marriage to him. Langer dies in the hospital before he can marry the beautiful harlot. However, someone still murders Vlčková with a shot from a hunting rifle. For Captain Strelková, this is the first major case of her career, and it is all the more difficult because the investigator has to make her mark in a world that has been the domain of men until now...
