Biography

Zandraa Tseveen was born in 1919 in Yeröö, in Selenge region. After graduating from school teaching, he becomes assistant director of drama plays, author and poet. In 1948, he is the very first Mongol student graduating from Moscow’s prestigious Film Institute, VGIK. He starts as a documentary filmmaker and screenwriter before becoming a fiction feature director. In 1999, he publishes the ultimate manual of movie techniques: Cinema’s Basics.
