Peter Andreevich, an outstanding doctor, heads the N. I. Pirogov Hospital. His daughter Kira, a brilliant surgeon on the verge of burnout, also works here. Novice doctors come to work at the hospital, whom Peter Andreevich directs to her for training. Kira takes them with hostility, for which she quickly becomes a "bitch" in the eyes of newcomers. None of them suspects that behind her nagging lies the desire to make them real professionals. For Kira, her career comes first, except for her, she has no friends, no husband, no children — only a married colleague-lover Ignat, who is in no hurry to get divorced.
