The story revolves around 22-year-old Laure, who is trying to find her feet. After performing brilliantly in her literature studies, she enrols as a communications officer in the Naval Fusiliers. She will quickly have to adapt to and assimilate the rules that apply within the institution. But Laure is a determined woman, and she has a thirst for knowledge – still. A thirst to learn to get to know and be comfortable with herself, and to find her place.

The murder of a woman in an abandoned house is the first murder this rural French island has had in 100 years. Or is it? A cop who left the island 20 years earlier and a young intern who moved away when she was six years old - but doesn't remember those first six years of her life - team up to solve the murder and some other mysteries that develop during the course of their investigation.

Assisted by his collegues, he spends the night looking for traces of organic life by examining rocks. Two days before the end of the shooting, a sudden and strange rise of fever struck the members of the crew causing the film to stop. Today, Yoshido is an old and weakened man. When he leaves the hospital, he knows he only has little time to live. During the night, after a few glasses of saké, he decides to resume the shooting of his unfinished film.
