Biography
Ukrainian and Russian cartoonist and illustrator, one of the founders of Ukrainian animation. Levandovskiy invented and put into production the "automatic pencil" - a device for controlling the frame-by-frame movement of a doll in space. For the first time in Soviet animation, Levandovsky used the so-called "éclair" method, when actors playing human characters are filmed at a normal speed - 24 frames per second, and then the animator, superimposing the captured film frames under his drawings, checks the movement of his animated character in time, of course, making an artistic selection, sharpening the movement. In addition, Levandovsky himself made a movie camera - all parts, except for optics, were made of wood of different species.

The Fox and the Wolf

An animated propaganda film depicting the curiosities of Ukrainization in the 1920s in a satirical form. It was prepared in the animation workshop of VUFKU in the spring of 1927 under the leadership of Levandovsky as his third work using paper dolls after "The Tale of the Straw Bull" and "The Tale of the Squirrel-Housewife and the Mouse-Villain" and was not planned for wide release. The film is lost.

The girl Zina and the boy Kolya mistreated toys. Offended toys fled to the doll country. The children gave chase. Reduced by the sorceress Mouse, they ended up in a wonderful land of dolls. By the verdict of Santa Claus, the children were turned into dolls and experienced all the troubles of toys that fell into the hands of careless children. Zina and Kolya reconciled with their toys and the Mouse returned them to their former appearance.
