Pamela returns home to the Philippines from the US after the passing of her parents, eventually finding out that her only relatives there live in a kangkong (swamp cabbage) plantation. She is immediately smittened by Carlos, who is about to be ordained a priest. As they get to know more about each other, what will be of Carlos' faith?
It follows two prostitutes striving to escape their sordid pasts. One falls for a man who sacrifices her for a mother-approved marriage, while the other marries a good man who eventually discovers her hidden history.
