Nina rubs people the wrong way and no longer fits into the world she moves in. The houses in Berlin are being built for others. Her friends only invite her over out of guilt. In the everyday encounters filmed with a camcorder, alienation and comedy, self-doubt and longing lie close together. And somewhere in between, there is also the hope that things could be different.

The chestnut tree is old and sick and may have to be felled. But for now, it still stands, towering over the garden. Slowly, like buds unfolding, the stories of the people who gaze upon the tree emerge.

On my bike Im here and somewhere else at the same time. The place of movement is the inbetween, the inbetween is where thinking takes place: about the fleeting now, family and the perfect bike.

GALILA is a fragment of a young woman who has a mind of her own. Rebellious, honest and incredibly warm. Working in top gastronomy in Berlin for some time now, she still lives unofficially in a substandard apartment, her very own empire.

After Resi (59) was able to lead her life largely autonomously despite her mental disability, she has been living in the local retirement home in her hometown of Kössen, Tyrol for a few years now. The unconventional Gini (61) is Resi's sister and guardian, but also her closest ally from the family. Their indestructible humor holds the two sisters together, even though there would have been every reason to lose heart. In March 2020 Resi died of corona disease.

On July 15th 1934, an illegal gathering of socialists took place in the Vienna Woods. When the fascist police discovered them, they opened fire and killed 2 young men. 90 years later, the traces left by the incident have almost disappeared. A group of people return to recall the past. The trees and the wind can bear witness to history.
