Newbie Constable Mandaar Ghorpade, nicknamed GIRPADE, follows in his father's footsteps and joins the police force as a lowly constable presiding over a rich Mumbai neighborhood. Girpade's father, Senior Constable Amol Ghorpade, died on the job while chasing the notorious criminal PHENYL MOHAN, who prides himself on being a master of disguise. Between his desire to apprehend Phenyl, his candid mother seeking purpose, his first love, and his quirky relationship with his Sub Inspector boss, Girpade finds himself dealing with bizarre rich people problems - one hilarious case at a time.

Aman Joshi (Aman Verma) is on a research assignment. His subject is the chawl dwellers in Bombay City. He rents a small tenement there and talks to the people living there. He soon gets involved in their lives, and even gets attracted to plain-looking Saundarya (Divya Mirza), who he transforms into a beauty, after a cosmetic makeover. Aman's kindness is mistaken for generosity by all the chawl dwellers, and they swarm him for his money, trying to get loans and gifts, to improve their lives. Then the lives of this small community are turned upside down, when the owner announces that he intends to tear the building down.

In a picturesque village in Maharashtra lives Raghunath aka Raghya (Vivek Chabukswar), studying in seventh standard. His father (Girish Kulkarni) works with Mumbai police as a constable; he visits his family in between. Shankar aka Sada (Abhishek Bharate) is Raghya’s classmate and close friend. His father is an officer with the Indian Army. Sada believes his father’s profession is more prestigious than Raghya’s father while Raghya feels vice-versa. Once, their school teacher (Kishore Kadam) hands over a voluntary task of collecting funds for a noble cause to the students. This exercise becomes the turning point in the friendship of Raghya and Sada.
