The CMG Spring Festival Gala (formerly known as the CCTV New Year's Gala; commonly abbreviated in Chinese as Chunwan or 春晚) is a Chinese New Year special gala produced by China Media Group (CMG). The Gala is a live variety show featuring music, dance, and comedy performances alongside official messaging, held annually on Chinese New Year's Eve since it was first aired in February 1983. It was recognized by Guinness World Records as the most watched national network TV broadcast in 2012 and is widely recognized as the world's most watched television program.
National CPC History Knowledge Competition for College Students is planned and initiated by CCTV, and launched in conjunction with the Party History and Documentation Research Institute of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the National Language Work Committee, the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Youth League, and the National Federation of Students' Secretariat. It is hosted by Long Yang, has a total of 10 episodes. In the program, in the real and moving stories, you can feel the suffering and glory; in the intense competition, you can learn the knowledge of party history; in the interpretation of authoritative experts, you can feel the power of faith.
"The 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala" is a variety show produced and broadcast by China Media Group. It features four sub-venues in Harbin, Heilongjiang; Yiwu, Zhejiang; Hefei, Anhui; and Yibin, Sichuan. The main venue in Beijing is hosted by Ren Luyu, Sa Beining, Nigmat, Long Yang, Ma Fanshu, and Liu Xinyue. The Harbin sub-venue is co-hosted by Yang Fan and Jiang Duo, the Yiwu sub-venue by Guo Ruotian and He Chuan, the Hefei sub-venue by Zhu Xun and Bai Yu, and the Yibin sub-venue by Zhang Tao and Wang Chuhan.
With the national treasure as the carrier, it showcases the achievements of China's five thousand years of civilization from eight aspects: politics, economy, culture, society, law, science and technology, medicine, and ecology.
