Biography

Misono Sakura (美園さくら, May 6th) is a Japanese actress and former Top Musumeyaku for the Moon Troupe in the Takarazuka Revue Company (2019-2021). In 2022 she announced acting wasn't for her and went on to attain a graduate degree in psychology from Keio University. Citing her time in the Takarazuka Revue as a big inducer of stress at the time, she stated that helping others-especially young people- is most important to her and wishes for the stigma surrounding mental health issues in Japan to be reduced. She has since made a return to the stage appearing in the 2024 Umeda Arts Theater production of Death Takes a Holiday playing the starring role of Grazia.

The musical is followed by a Japan Traditional Revue titled "Welcome to Takarazuka." The theme for this revue show comes from the beauty of the four seasons in which the spirituality of the Japanese people is based on. Kabuki legend Bando Tamasaburo is a supervising director of this show, which marks his first collaboration with the Takarazuka Revue.

The first act is a musical comedy titled "PROM LESSON," which depicts the struggles of young people and their love affair at prom, a dance party held during the graduation season at an American high school. The musical has two different versions with the same premise but switched, one starring Asami Jun and the other starring Akatsuki Chisei, each playing a different character. In Ari's version, the udderless "wonder boy" Ari meets the most beautiful girl in school and is "taught a lesson" to become the ultimate Prom King. The second act is titled Midnight Show "A-EN MOONRISE," an entertainment show starring the stars in a moon-themed revue.
