Hijiri has loved Koyori since childhood, and she feels the same, but they’ve kept their feelings hidden. At 26, they finally give in to their emotions, leading to a night together. Hijiri wants to deepen their relationship, but Koyori is torn between love and preserving their close friendship.

When Tsukasa was a middle school student, she had a crush on transfer student Hayato and even confessed her feelings to him. She was turned down by Hayato. Now, Tsukasa and Hayato are classmates in high school. Hayato treats Tsukasa as just a friend, but Tsukasa still has feelings for him. Meanwhile, Hayato becomes attracted to Tsukasa.

Aoyama Haru and Kagaya Kaede have been friends since they were 4 years old, when they began living next door to each other. They are now 24-years-old and still live in the same apartments. Kaede has held feelings for Haru for the past 20 years, but Haru doesn’t seem to realize her feelings for him. She talks about this situation with her childhood friends Iori and Mio and decides to give up on her feelings for Haru. But, it's not easy for Kaede to disconnect her feelings for him. Meanwhile, Iori has liked Kaede since he was an elementary school student. He approaches her. Seeing this, Haru becomes disturbed. In fact, Haru made a promise with Kaede’s late mother and he is honoring it.

Mitsuki is shy and rather isolated at school. Towa is on the basketball team and Mitsuki's class-mate. Due to circumstances, Mitsuki soon begins to socialize with four jocks of the basketball team, which affects her self-esteem, her social status, her loneliness and her life. She finds a new lease in her school life.

Shizuto Sakatsuki (Kengo Kora) is a mourner. He goes to scenes of accidents and mourns for the victims. Yukiyo Nagi (Yuriko Ishida), who killed her husband and served prison time, goes to the scene of the murder and meets Shizuto. She follows him from that time. Other people that exists in their lives are Shizuto’s mother Junko who is terminally ill with cancer and waits for Shizuto’s return, his younger sister Mishio who is pregnant by her now ex-boyfriend and a magazine reporter who chases after Shizuto. The movie examines life and death, love and hate and sin and forgiveness through these characters.
