Biography
Dennis Wamala is a human rights activist working with LGBTI issues in Uganda. He is the director of programs at Icebreakers Uganda, which is a care and support organization for LGBTI people in Uganda. He is also the vice-chair of the board of Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG). Dennis sits on the national LGBT security committee which monitors, documents, and responds to violations against LGBT people in Uganda. He has a wealth of experience in LGBTI human rights issues and access to health issues more so with men who have sex with men (MSM). He has worked on many local and international projects in this regard. Dennis holds a degree in economics from Makerere University in Kampala. Dennis is a returning Fellow of is a returning Fellow of the Salzburg Global LGBTForum.
