Two Americans and their allies form a scrappy rescue operation in 1940 Marseilles to help artists, writers and other refugees fleeing Europe during WWII. Transatlantic is a historical drama television miniseries created by Anna Winger and Daniel Hendler, based on the 2019 novel The Flight Portfolio by Julie Orringer. The novel explores the historic Emergency Rescue Committee that operated in Marseilles, Spain, and Portugal in 1940 after the fall of France. The series includes or refers to well-known artists or scholars of the time who were saved by the Committee or interacted with it. The series closed the 2023 Series Mania festival in March, ahead of its Netflix premiere on 7 April 2023.

During a robbery at KaDeWe, of all places, a magical encounter occurs between Hedi, a saleswoman in the textile department, and Fritzi, the daughter of KaDeWe owner Adolf Jandorf. It is love at first sight: Against all social and family odds, the two disparate young women begin a passionate relationship. At the same time, Fritzi's older brother and war returnee Harry is fighting for his father's recognition as the new junior manager of KaDeWe - and against his own despair. At Harry's side is Georg, a general manager placed in front of him by his father, who has worked his way up from a poor background to the top echelons of KaDeWe. Georg, of all people, will play a decisive role in the future fate of the department store...

In 1988, Cynthia Beatt and the young Tilda Swinton embarked on a filmic journey along the Berlin Wall into little-known territory. The film is now an unusual document. 21 years later, in June 2009, Beatt & Swinton re-traced the line of the Wall that once isolated West Berlin. This film depicts this poetic passage through varied landscapes, this time on both sides of the former Wall.

There are lots of beauty competitions but only one Ms. Senior Sweetheart contest: this pageant is the only one in the world for women aged 58 and up. Since 1978 the pageant has invited women from all over America to stay in Fall River for eleven days. Starting with dress rehearsals, noble dinners and performances the contest culminates in the ladies' ball and the coronation of the new beauty queen. The documentary accompanies three of the pageants on their way to the contest.
