Journalist Klaudiya Novak is in crisis. After publishing one of her articles, she survived the attack and decided to leave the profession because she felt powerless in her fight against injustice. An insurance agent, an accountant, a digital gravedigger, a homeless accordion player, a typography designer and seven other completely different people meet at a cooking class. Father and son are driving a car through a monotonous, endless, cold autumn landscape. Their paths will all cross and life will never be the same again. Ultimately, each of them will understand what it means to be an angel on this cruel, dry, gray earth.

Alyoshin is a pupil at a correctional orphanage. To confirm his legal capacity and to get out, he goes on an internship in a bakery. There, he falls in love with a co-worker and pretends that they are having an affair.
