Andrzej Marek Drążewski

This film is a record of the first Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival. It reflects the various ways the festival was given shape by nascent global changes embodied by Perestroika, the Tiananmen Square massacre, and many other contemporaneous events.

The director takes a look at the situation of transgender people in Poland in the late 1980s. He interviews trans people themselves and polls passers-by on the street about the topic they’ve given very little thought to. Among expressions of disgust and condemnation, there is only one completely different voice.

This theory allows for a better understanding of phenomena occurring in the world around us.

A documentary reconstruction of the events of June 1956 in Poznań based on accounts of witnesses and participants of the strike as well as security service employees. The picture is dominated by photographic and film archives from state resources and unique materials from private collections.
