Ipolyt Lazarchuk

Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".

To get his satirical screenplay approved by Cave Film studio, a writer must remove the parts that won't fit through the cave entrance.

Their "League of Nations" is joined by a fox who, having lulled the vigilance of his neighbors with the sweet melody of the barrel-organ with a picture of a dove of peace on it, insidiously breaks the agreement. One of the film's directors, Ipolyt Lazarchuk, became the "father" of the Ukrainian animation school in the post-war period.

The forest is a home to many animals, and they each have their own worries. Thus, a bear has to look after an apiary to collect honey, a bunny likes to dance, frogs and fish swim in the pond. Suddenly the idyll gets broken because of the poisoned water, which can cause death to the river inhabitants. One of the fishes calls the editorial office with the hope that she would not get a refusal to help...

Polar bears, walruses and penguins see off the Soviet members of the North Pole-1, the world's first crewed drifting ice station led by Ivan Papanin, as they board the icebreakers Taimyr and Murman to return to Moscow.

A chick lives behind a fence in a farm and conducts a choir of the other chicks. After meeting a self-important turkey, the chick also becomes conceited and decides to make his name in the world outside the chicken coop. After being nearly killed by birds, fish and a cat, he returns home chastened and decides to stay where he is.
