The story takes place in Colonia del Sacramento, a charming little colonial town in Uruguay. It narrates a day in the life of three members of a family: the son, the mother, and the grandfather, taking as a common thread an old cookbook. Contemporaneity, love and death come together in the lives of the three characters.
The Recipe

Elan is a concept from the French philosopher Henri Bergson that refers to the impulse or force that keeps us alive. The one that makes us get up every morning. In times of endless hyperlinks, virtual realities, and intangible connections, the film strips us bare and embarks us on a sensory journey into the lives of a handful of human beings from different nationalities, engaging them by giving them a voice, sharing their emotions, and revealing their most intimate thoughts.
