The Film interweaves the forgotten threads of the local history of the city born with the goddess Kali coded in its name - Kalikata/ Kolkata. Through a personalized and subjective historical account, the filmmaker tries to map the shifts in polity from the pre-colonial to the post-colonial age, weaving in many told and untold facts, anecdotes, and relics

The film writer, cameraman, production manager and the actress set off on a car trip driving through the story. A trip the director chooses to abstain. He believes it’s a story the road will write. All he needs is the writer to refine the route map… pen and petrol. A pointless long travel. The crewmembers fall apart one by one. The actress is let alone with the writer. The travel continues till they meet a dead end. But the story has to return.

Guided by the words of a 92-year old veteran of the independence movement, the Kolkata-born director captures the fading vestiges and atmosphere of the city. A "monkey man" leads his monkey and the camera through the city streets, where the sound of spinning wheels can be heard coming from the alleyways, and the calls of street vendors and the performance of a voice mimic echo off the walls of old buildings. The film evokes the faint fragrance of Kolkata that lingers in these fragments of memory.
