Joe Neary

Donald Grant, after serving a prison term, obtains a job in a smalltown factory where he meets Helen Wilburton, who invites him to board with her and her father. He marries her, and on the first night of their honeymoon, a burglary is traced to one of Donald's former cohorts.

Young Lois Brandon is about to have her home foreclosed if she doesn't come up with some money. She enters her horse, Atta Boy, in a big-money race, hoping the win will enable her to pay off the mortgage and save her home.

As the freight train on which are riding Mike and Leary, two knights of the road, passes the station at Hynes, the tramps steal the mail bag which had been placed on the crane by the postmaster of that place. They jump from the train in a secluded spot and start to rifle the bag.

Poor abused Nora runs into privileged bored Beatrice while wandering onto the rich girl's family estate. Both girls notice the uncanny resemblance between each other, so they decide to switch places. However, trouble soon arises for both girls in their new roles.
