Mathew Devassy, a retired bank manager decides to enter local panchayat elections. Unexpectedly, his wife Omana, shocks everyone by filing for divorce, claiming that Mathew is gay.

A girl juggling her dreams and social expectations, women workers denied bathroom breaks, a housewife thrown into crisis by a routine gone awry, a maid caught between the priorities of her employer couple, a sewage worker deciding to question an atrocity. Five stories about people of different classes, genders and ages - connected in their struggles for freedom and by the tears and smiles they encounter in that journey.

The film centers on Sethulekshmi, a single mother whose younger daughter disappears during a visit to her husband’s grave. When police investigations prove futile, she relocates to the area with her elder daughter Neela, facing hostility from a conservative community while Neela finds love with a deaf boy at a local school.

Gi lives with Appachan, her grandfather. She and he are dealing with different realities. Appachan is losing some memories and delving into worlds Gi is unfamiliar with. She on the other hand is trying to come to terms with the world around her, her lover and her work which all seem hostile to her.
