“Golden Lotus” is a masterpiece of Guangdong Han Opera. This film deeply explores the essence of the classical literary masterpiece of the same name. It not only brings a fresh exploration to traditional Han Opera in terms of form, but also demonstrates a high level of innovation and transformation in content. Film tells the story of Jin Lian, who has loved gold and jewels since childhood. She saves broken jewelry and gold pieces to secretly craft a pair of golden lotus shoes. She originally intended to use them to marry a good husband with dignity and honor.
