The wolves are returning to a barren region in the Croatian-Dalmatian hinterland. Though the tourist destinations of the Adriatic coast are less than half an hour away, people in the deserted villages of Bukovica believe that "Brussels" represents evil and flies the wolves over by helicopter. Ana, a dedicated veterinarian, attempts to refute these theories and engage with the people on the ground.

This is a film about confronted parallel memories of a village that brutally changed twice its name, population and its own history. The village that got trapped in a vicious circle of never ending traumas of the 20th century.
That Other Village

Nineteen years after the war, Goge, a refugee from Bosnia and Herzegovina, lives in a UNHCR center located in what used to be a school. Jelena, a returnee of Serbian nationality, is alone among the ruins of a village that remains mined to this day. Branko, a veteran of Croatian paramilitary units, is unemployed and renting a room in the house of an owner of Serbian nationality. Endless waiting is the only remaining option for them in a dysfunctional society.

Five people, who grew up in Zagreb before the World War II, were for different reasons led to become members of illegal anti-fascist movement. Walking through the streets of Zagreb they talk about their youthful experiences in Zagreb before the war, emotionally and with no ideological platitude
