Istanbul, 1950. The effects of the Second World War continue. While free thought is suppressed, the artists are followed by the police. One of followed artists is Orhan Veli, one of the founders of the ‘Garip’ movement in Turkish poetry. The poet cannot meet a young poet who wants to show his own poems to Veli.

In Ghost of the Opera, the transformation of the Ankara Exhibition House, which was designed by architect Şevki Balmumcu and completed in 1934, into the Ankara Opera House in 1948, and the depressed period that began in Şevki Balmumcu's life with this transformation and the change of Ankara's architecture.
