The head of aspekte, Wolgang Herles, describes the program as follows: "For 40 years, "aspekte" has repeatedly set out to enrich television with cultural contrasts. "aspekte" understands culture not as the sum of facts and events, but as the taste, the sound, the rhythms of the times. It has proven itself as a journal of true luxury and fashions as well as an instrument of public education and information."

A band attempts to stand out from the musical mainstream and still remain commercial enough. On the one hand ‘Florian Paul & die Kapelle der letzten Hoffnung’ want it all; on the other hand, they want very little. Like many other German indie bands, they face challenges: how do we reach our audience? And at what cost?

Germany, 1970: Students Karl-Heinz and Hedi try to find a way to be together from across the Iron Curtain, with her in the East and him in the West. Under the pressure of the GDR’s secret police, Karl-Heinz can’t move to East Germany and eventually, Hedi has to leave the country. Her escape, disguised as a holiday trip to Romania, goes wrong in many ways.

As she immerses herself ever deeper into the artist’s world, encountering key figures such as Otto Modersohn, Clara Westhoff-Rilke, and Rainer Maria Rilke, the lines between role and reality, portrayal and identification, begin to dissolve.

"I need help!". Vera turns to her best friend, Annelie: Diagnosis code F32.2 - a severe depression. What does a sentence such as this mean for one's own life, as well as for their friendship? How can they continue to be there for each other? Memories, stories and shared activities shall provide comfort in a situation, in which even the doctors' and specialists' explanations only enhance a feeling of helplessness. Together the two friends search for images and words that might help to come to terms with this strange, "fucked up" feeling.

In 2024 a private organization plans to send a group of four people to Mars. Paul Leeming and Pauls Irbins are both shortlisted candidates fort the planet's first human settlement. The mission is going to be a one-way trip.
