Auto rickshaw driver Manickam avoids violence at all costs. When some thugs begin to intimidate Manickam's family, it triggers the revival of Manickam's old self.

A genius-yet-introverted orphan, raised by a church priest, is sent to college where he turns out to be a social outcast. Although he is shunned by the majority of the other students, one girl shows him kindness and befriends him. Things take a turn when he falls for her, and she in turn falls for another classmate.

Kana Kaanum Kaalangal is a series that portrays the adolescent lives of students. The series was launched in October 2006, and aired some 500 episodes. Healthy competition, fights, jealousy, and friendship are common to any student's life, and these form the themes of the show. The sequel to is Kana Kaanum Kalangal Kalloriyin Kadhai which portray the lives of college students. The theme song of the show is a hit, composed by music director Vijay Antony.
