In Liebe - Britta Schmidt

Do computer-generated figures now look as “real” as “genuine” humans? For 26-year-old Lale, this question is not only exciting in theory, but in practice. She works as a model but would rather spare herself exhausting shoots by getting an avatar. But when she has taken the first steps towards “doubling” herself, she has second thoughts. What does it mean, in actual, legal and moral terms, to bring a virtual duplicate of oneself into the world?
Uncanny Me
Ever frequently, irritations, anxiety disorders, burn-out, depressions, and other psychological illnesses have become a reason for employees to obtain a sick certificate. How are 24/7 availability, multitasking, or the abolition of regular working hours linked to this phenomenon? BURNING WITHIN draws a picture of the globalisation of work and the insecurity caused by it.
Burning Within

Is it possible to get close to someone who sees their sole task in life in losing themself in the parts they play? How can a film portrait be created when every image only contributes to further fictionalization? Who is facing each other when the line between fact and fiction becomes blurred? Katharina Pethke looks back to dissect the past and her contradictory feelings for the celebrated actor Philipp Hochmair, following the lines of her own artistic and personal doubts.
Everyman & I
A glass eye is created in a manual process.
Anophtalmus
Lale has been working as a model for eight years. But the superficial nature of the work exhausts her. She has the idea of having herself cloned virtually. Her avatar will work for her.
