On the rooftop, a little boy, Zai-Zai, finds his cousin, Hsio-Fei, who is avoiding a family funeral ceremony. He notices that Hsio-Fei has a new cellphone and wonders how he got it. He accidentally uncovers an unspeakable secret hidden deep inside Hsio-Fei’s heart.

The little place is Hsiao-Chun’s home and country. As many young Taiwanese, she is torn apart between leaving or staying this place. Expecting a baby, her chances of finding a career abroad are fading, though her connections to the little place are changing like the bustling city that surrounds her.
The director presents the process of childbirth in the form of a picture book, telling the story to Butterfly’s daughter. Taking on the role of a companion—like a gentle friend—the director offers a close, eye-level perspective, accompanying a mother who chooses natural childbirth through her journey of pregnancy and delivery. In the end, the director reveals that her mother gave birth to her sister in the same way when she was three years old, yet she missed that moment. Years later, she observes and shot the birthing process, expressing a deep respect for mothers' strength and greatness interwoven with narration and reality.
