What words carry, what they miss, and what they connect. Yunmei has left her hometown of Taiwan to pursue a career as an actress in Japan. She’s been cast in the lead role of a film but struggles with her Japanese lines. Around the same time, her older sister, Huiling, who works for a major corporation in Taiwan, is transferred to Japan, and Yunmei helps her find a place to live. However, the two often clash. Real-life sisters and actors vividly portray these distant siblings, gently capturing the uncertainty of communication and the quiet moments when hearts unexpectedly connect.
Bunsaku and Konosuke used to work together. However, after the suicide of Konosuke's childhood friend Natsume, the two go their separate ways. Then, a parcel addressed to Konosuke arrives from Tsugusawa who was the cameraman on Natsume's film.
Haruka is a rookie physical therapist at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Japan. Just after her boyfriend suddenly dumps her, it's set that the very first patient she'll be in charge of through his hospitalization is Mr. Tsuge, who is paralyzed on his left side from a stroke. On the first day of rehabilitation, Tsuge asks Haruka, "Can I go back to my old life?" but she cannot answer.
