Neal Ascherson was born on October 5, 1932 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland as Charles Neal Ascherson. He is a writer, known for The World at War (1973), The Spanish Civil War (1983) and Cold War (1998). He has been married to Isabel Hilton since August 1984. They have two children. He was previously married to Corinna Adam.
