A family spends an afternoon of tension, silences and secrets with the only expectation of knowing what they are hiding from each other.

Omar is unable to smile. His mind takes us on a journey through memories and images by which he must understand what it means to smile, why he should smile, and what the world will hold in store for him if he cannot figure it out.

Carla goes to a party that she won't leave without having to spend days thinking about what she's done. And rather than thinking about what he has done, thinks about what he could do now.
