As a child, Zhenya used to watch cartoons before going to sleep. While revisiting family VHS footage, he begins to reflect on how deeply those cartoons shaped his sense of life — and of death.

But case is continue and the historian is still under arrest. Life of Yuri Dmitriev and his family was destroyed by the state. This documentary and animation film - is story about friendship one of author of film and girl, who was foster daughter of Yuri Dmitriev and who stood in the center of the process.

Children climb into an abandoned attic and meet a talking rook who is rushing to the Pokrovka district to save houses from the house-eater - the spirit of oblivion. The children decide to help the rook and go with him. The rook takes the children into the memory of the house and tells the secrets of the houses. Going on this adventure with the heroes, the viewer will walk along the streets of the Pokrovsky district of Moscow: learn the history of the Levitan house, the Rakhmanov house and the Ukraintsev chambers.

In the spring of 2022 Vigen came back to the little town in Armenia that he left when was 11 y.o. He has to remember his mother’s tongue over again, settle in and find a job. There are old things in the basement of his house that were brought from the village where his ancestors lived a long time ago. These things keep the history of Vigen’s family, childhood and support him with starting a new life.

The story of two brothers who grew up in a wealthy Moscow family and survived devastating revolutionary changes, but were arrested and sent to a camp in 1941 for their German roots. Very little information about their lives has survived, but the little that remains is incredibly beautiful and alive. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the heroes became film artists in order to try to understand what happened to their family in the last century and how to deal with this memory today.
