He is forced to carry out a very flexible foreign policy in order to strength his positions. Pope Innocent III recognizes him as Emperor (Tsar), but a little later the fourth Crusade crosses the country under Emperor Baldwin. A new conflict is coming. Tsar Kaloyan wages the decisive battle at Adrianople and wins.

Margaritka (Daisy) is sick during the school year. Her dad is a writer and her mom is an actress who is rehearsing her lines for a new premiere. She is having an affair with the director of the production. At the premiere of "Mommy," Daddy sees her and the director kissing. Papa and Margaritka leave without waiting for Mommy. At home, a scandal is inevitable, but it does not solve anything yet. Mama leaves on tour, and Margaritka and Papa go to the village. There she makes friends with the village children and forgets about her incessant coughing and sneezing. Soon she begins to miss her mom and asks her dad to call her. He writes a telegram but does not send it. The child finds a crumpled piece of paper and goes to the post office. Mom arrives and all three are reunited.

During World War II, a mountain village priest, Pop Vecherko, unwittingly shelters a disguised partisan and helps run an underground press that prints the Communist Manifesto under the guise of hagiography. When a misdelivered package reaches the Synod and triggers mass arrests of clergy, a chance grenade explosion orchestrated by local children creates chaos, allowing Vecherko and his unsuspecting ally, the mayor, to slip away unnoticed.

Andrey manages to get at the truth: Parvan Primov, Todor's twin brother, has made the car crash. On that night he killed his brother and took his place...

Each individual member of a rural cooperative family is entitled to a plot of land for personal use. The large Sedmak family lives together, but the eldest son Kram wants them to fictitiously split up in order to get more land. Despite his parents' reluctance, Krum and his wife leave. Krum and his family maintain a separate household, although the whole family continues to dine together. Unaware of what has happened is his younger brother Nayden, who is in love with the cooperative chairman's daughter. One day the Sedmaks forget to lock the door, and the chairman Geras enters and sees them eating dinner together. The fraud is uncovered... The chairman forbids his daughter Yanka to meet Nayden. After the fateful dinner, there is a rift in the Sedmak family. Nayden leaves his father's house. Sandy and Kram confess their guilt. Yanka, after some thought, returns to Nayden. They leave together to study in the city....
