Kryminalni was a Polish crime drama television series that aired on TVN network from September 18, 2004 until May 24, 2008. It ran for 8 seasons and 101 episodes were broadcast in total. It was created by Polish director and screenwriter Piotr Wereśniak and produced by MTL Maxfilm studio. The series followed life and work of police officers from the elite Criminal Terror and Murders Division of the Warsaw Metropolitan Police; the title refers to police officers in the crime section. The three main characters were Adam Zawada, an experienced, tough cup, his younger colleague Marek Brodecki and Barbara Storosz, an ambitious female officer who in the first season joins the team just after graduating. Although none of the main actors had had star status before the series debuted, all three of them rose to prominence and popularity during the 5-year-long run. Many of Poland's best known actors guest starred, usually playing roles of people involved in just one particular investigation. The serial was one of the most popular in Poland: each week it had an audience of 4 million.

Set in Szczecin, Poland, the series begins after the body of a young woman is discovered under the melting ice. It asks ‘Who was she? Why did she die? Who did she leave behind?

Once there, he is unexpectedly called to investigate a new case: the kidnapping of a powerful man's grandson, which he undertakes to help set him free from his past mistakes. As he was unable to protect Slawek, he sees this case as a second chance to protect a child and an opportunity for justice. Adam must control the darkest corners of his mind to solve the kidnapping and as the case unfolds, he discovers answers which will reveal an unexpected link between these two cases.

Such conclusions are reached in unison by Albert, Marcin and Jacek - three buddies from the housing estate, who, after a series of business disasters, finally come up with an idea on how to make a nice profit. Thus is born a plan for a daring plot that will lead the heroes into the middle of a big wedding, where not only money, but also a chance for a hot romance awaits them. Thirty-year-old nurse Teresa spends her days caring for elderly, dying people. Janusz, a young man she met at an amusement park, enters the life of this bitter and disillusioned woman. Teresa doesn't have the courage to tell him how she feels, and he also has trouble expressing his emotions. They are helped by Julka, a girl from the neighborhood who likes Teresa. She finds a pile of love letters from the beginning of the century in the trash. By forging Teresa and Janusz's handwriting, she starts a love correspondence between them, rewriting fragments of other people's confessions.

Michael and Eve lead a steady life subordinated to a good job and a second pregnancy. Kasia and Bartek are facing serious financial problems. Unexpectedly for everyone, during an argument Kasia reveals to her husband that she spent the night with Michal. Friendship and love come into question in an instant. Emotional and financial dependencies and seemingly innocent lies spiral into misunderstandings. In an intimate atmosphere, emotions reach the highest registers. Absurdity accompanies emotion. On top of this, debt collectors, the police and a nosy neighbor get involved in the marital dispute. Chaos grows, multiplying funny situations, until the final tragedy, which will turn out to be an opportunity for both couples - a rescue for their love and friendship.

Aaron is an Israeli singer who comes to Poland for a guest performance in a provincial theater. The artist is warmly welcomed by the management and the theater team. During one of the rehearsals, Aaron spots backstage what he thinks looks like Adolf Hitler. Attempts are stopped and the hosts are accused of anti-Semitism. A chain of absurd situations follows, and the revealed prejudices lead to an escalation of the conflict.
