Pigmeat and Shorty, who own "Pigmeat and Shorty's Bootery", are told by their landlord to either pay up or get out. They get caught trying to short-count him, and he threatens to have them arrested. After a series of disasters--they ruin a customer's suit, their store blows up--they get a telegram notifying them that a man they once did a kindness for has left them quite a bit of money and a house, but in order to get the inheritance, they have to spend a night in the bedroom of the man's house. When they arrive there, they notice two things--the place is kind of creepy and a series of spooky incidents leaves them to believe the house is haunted.

This silent drama's story is based on the Broadway play Hail and Farewell by William Hurlbut.

Everybody's Business is a 1919 American silent drama film directed by J. Searle Dawley and starring Charles Richman and Alice Calhoun. It is now considered a lost film and the full cast is unknown. It marked the screen debut of Calhoun. Not to be confused with the 1917 film by Ralph Dewsbury.

Heads of rival lumber camps meet in a fight. Louis Lenoir, a renegade French Canadian, causes the death of "Big" MacDonald, a hard-fighting Scotsman whose life is guided by his dogmatic religious beliefs. His son, Ranald, is left to settle the blood feud. In spite of the pleas of his sweetheart, the daughter of a minister, he participates in a gang fight on the logs in mid-river just as a log drive to Ottawa begins.

A lovely castaway is believed to be a goddess by the local natives. Popular dancer Mlle. Doraldina wrote the story to this film especially to highlight her talents, which trade paper Moving Picture World called "frankly sensual and of the athletic order."
