Maverick teacher Eikichi Onizuka takes on a new role at the elite Seishin Academy, where he struggles to connect with students locked to their screens.
Eikichi Onizuka, former gang leader, becomes a teacher of a class of students who torment their teachers and fellow students. Of course they do not do this out of whim, they have their reasons. Onizuka is charged by the chairlady to help these troubled students into a more healthy adulthood, and help rehabilitate the teachers in the process as well.

Former yakuza Haruo is finally released from prison after completing his sentence. With nine years worth of prison gratuities in hand, he stops at a restaurant to enjoy a good meal, but all of his money ends up being stolen. With nothing left, he spends the night at a net cafe, and he manages to look up his old friend from his yakuza days. When Haruo visits the next day, he learns that his old girlfriend Mariko was living with another man, but later died of illness. Haruo, who had committed murder 9 years earlier to earn the money for Mariko's medical treatment, is shocked and angered. He decides to track down that other man, who runs a bakery with his wife and daughter Sachi. Haruo later runs into Sachi at the park, but he has yet to find out the truth about her.

Abandoned as a child by his mother, Hasumi Sachiyo, Fujishima Haru is a mentally challenged man that has grown up and worked at the Sakurai Bakery as a baker. Shingo Okazaki is a young man devoted to his mother to a degree that's rare in Japan. Her ex-teacher Masayuki Kitabatake is the director at Tokyo University Hospital and he persuades Shiho to work at his hospital in the diagnosis department which consists of all female doctors. Shiho, who is more stubborn in her will to save other patients, sometimes come in conflicts with the other doctors there, but she cooperates with them to reveal a mysterious malady.
