Biography

José Casas Ruiz is a Mexican professional wrestler (called a Luchador in Spanish) and trainer working for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) under the ring name Negro Casas. He is the son of former wrestler turned referee Pepe Casas, and part of the large Casas wrestling family; brother of professional wrestlers El Felino and Heavy Metal and uncle of Puma, Tiger, Canelo Casas, Rocky Casas, Danny Casas and many more. Casas has trained several wrestlers, including Mephisto, Kazushige Nosawa, T.J. Perkins, Rocky Romero, and Ricky Marvin. Casas has worked all over the world, making appearances for WWE in the United States of America as well as touring with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) in Japan for over a decade. In Mexico Casas has worked for CMLL since the 1990s but has also wrestled for the Universal Wrestling Association (UWA), World Wrestling Association (WWA) and International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). In 2008 Negro Casas joined with Mr. Niebla and Heavy Metal to form the group La Peste Negra (Spanish for "the Black Plague"), a group that would later be joined by El Felino.

The World Wrestling Peace Festival was a professional wrestling supercard event produced by Japanese professional wrestler Antonio Inoki, which took place on June 1, 1996 at the Los Angeles Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California. The event was organized by Inoki to promote world peace with an interpromotional event involving major promotions from around the world. Forty wrestlers from six countries ended up taking part in the event. Inoki's home promotion New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), as well as smaller independent groups, represented Japan, while World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) took part on behalf of the United States. Both of Mexico's top promotions Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) participated in the event, which was considered unlikely by many in the industry given their own heated rivalry.

The CMLL 72nd Anniversary Show (Spanish: 72. Aniversario de CMLL) was a professional wrestling major show event produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) that took place on September 16, 2005, in Arena México, Mexico City, Mexico. The event commemorated the 72nd anniversary of CMLL, the oldest professional wrestling promotion. in the world.[3] The anniversary show is CMLL's biggest show of the year, their Super Bowl event. The CMLL Anniversary Show series is the longest-running annual professional wrestling show, starting in 1934. The show consisted of six matches, with the main event being a Lucha de Apuestas, hair vs. hair vs. hair match between Héctor Garza, Perro Aguayo Jr., and Universo 2000. It also featured four Six-man tag team matches, including a Mini-Estrella match. The show also saw a singles match for the vacant CMLL World Women's Championship.
