Rose’s wayward brother returns home on the same morning their quiet neighborhood is roiled by a violent crime. Across town, their ailing aunt Chris lives in self-imposed isolation with no interest in receiving phone calls or mail. As a house-to-house manhunt is underway, Chris finds a bloodied gunman hiding in her living room. She calmly assures him, “I’m not going to scream.”
It’s glaring, gnashing teeth before the bite. It’s furtive glances and heart palpitations. It’s the penultimate beat of silence before it jumps out at you. It’s catching a spectre out of the corner of your eye, only to realize it was you all along. It’s exorcising the language of dominion.
A collaboration between Armand Hammer and filmmaker Joseph Mault, this experimental film combines live performances, music videos, unreleased tracks and verité footage shot during a trip to Los Angeles. The duo of ELUCID and billy woods get back in the studio with The Alchemist, link with Earl Sweatshirt, and perform tracks from their critically-acclaimed release Haram.
