Biography
Renaud Pachot is a filmmaker who grew up in rural France. He met Liana Kassir in Paris in 2007. They moved to Beirut and purchased a Super 16mm camera. Essays and short films followed, written and directed jointly in both Lebanon and France.

On a full moon night, the young Najwa and the musician Mansour reach Beirut. They follow the trail of smugglers to join a woman on the other side of the sea. A few streets away, Selim, the old lighthouse keeper, tries to repair the electricity of his neighborhood.
The Sea and Its Waves

France, 2019, in the middle of a village: "Le Palais Oriental." In this shisha bar, the Lebanese waitress welcomes her customers who have come to listen to the 8 p.m. news. It's a special moment where everyone can, for a brief moment, see and hear news from their country. That evening, Lebanon is on fire.
