The young Isabelle escapes from the orphanage and she adopted by two chaps on a caravan. They then meet by chance the posh family of Louise- who runs away with the three adventurers when confronted with the reality of having to marry a Belgian with a large moustache and a bald head. They find a dog. Later Louisa degenerates into a minor moment of sexual hedonism and multiplexing with the two chaps before they are all overwhelmed by the Armageddon that was WWI.
In this documentary, we become acquainted with the Virgilian Bruegel of the vast landscapes and the sarcastic Bruegel of popular moral tales. We see the Bruegel of the peasants and the Bruegel of the humanists, Bruegel the earthy and Bruegel the thinker, the Bruegel of everyday life and the Bruegel who ventures into the boldest flights of imagination and fantasy. The Flemish version is narrated by Ludo Bekkers en Julien Schoenaerts and the French version by Daniel Gelin and Philippe Noiret
An actor pretends to be a writer. He sits in his office, reflects and puts words to paper, which are then performed by Jan Decorte. The text influences the situations shown and vice versa [Avila].
Crippled as a young girl, Sabine vows to become a nun if cured. But when it turns out the original diagnosis was faulty and she regains the use of her legs, she decides to marry instead. Wreaked with guild when her first child is stillborn, Sabine enters a monastery where her sister Gertrude also resides. But after her sister dies of an illness, Sabine leaves the nuns behind and travels to India seeking peace.
