Biography
Neo Apelian is an Armenian Lebanese Filmmaker based in Dubai. His writer/director journey began with the short film IDI. in January 2021. IDI later went on to win 11 awards at various worldwide festivals, and screening in over 16 festivals. IDI , first earned Neo the Gold Award for First Time Director, at many medium level Film Festivals. Eventually Neo completed his newest short film, "Karayr" an Arabic post-apocalyptic tale that blends Komitasian music and Armenian influence. KARAYR came on top at the first HollyShorts Dubai, winning the “Best of the Fest” Award, propelling Neo into writing more films, and features on the way.

Karayr is a philosophical post-apocalyptic tale set after a biological war that has regressed humanity to its primitive form. A Man in the cave, a lone survivor, tries to civilize a caveman attempting to restore humanity.
Cave
Idi is an independent loner with a high tech remotely controlled home, who comes back after a long day to have some time to herself. Her otherwise normal evening takes a turn for the worst, when her decision to update the home system suddenly causes her trusty machines to operate autonomously, independent of her. The more Idi tries to regain control, the more she loses it.
