Shot entirely from a boat on a lake, this evocative film confronts the viewer resolutely with his or her sensitivity for the moment. Surrounded by sounds of animal life, both from the lake and the neighbouring forests, this film takes us through the seasons. Sounds of water, the wind and a human presence.

Børge Ousland, one of the world’s greatest polar explorers, is joined by the no less famous South African adventurer Mike Horn for a 1,500 km journey on skis across the polar cap. In addition to the extreme cold and the physical and psychological challenges caused by the darkness, there are the almost daily dangers of this ice that is getting so thin that it requires enormous risks to maintain their progress.
