An unpleasant incident on the winter track results in a conflict between two racing drivers: the aging master of sports Kukushkin and his student — the young and ambitious Sergachev. The disagreement leads to the fact that despite the protests of the team coach, on the eve of the next major competitions, former teammates find themselves in different crews.

Illness is loneliness and fear. But is it possible in such conditions to lose faith to meet a friend and happiness? Is all life now doomed to pass behind the bleak walls of the hospital? A sick boy suffering from leukemia meets a mentally ill person in the hospital, with whom they run in search of healing.

The main character of the film - Ayaal-a deaf-mute guy with no particular occupation, a racketeer. The anticipation of love, the realization of beauty, a bright flash of feelings and experiences, the world of beauty and sounds, goodness and light caused in his soul a meeting with beauty in the image of a ballerina. Love allowed the hero to rise above himself, above his deafness, above his dumb, gray world. Hence the associations: wings, flight, a new, bright, unreal world.
