Part music video and part documentary, Off to the Races is a new arrangement of the classic Erhu song, Horse Race. The film is a collaboration between the Calgary Chinese Orchestra, filmmaker Vicki Van Chau, and music producer Warren Tse. Through an open call process, the film features 72 participants from the global music community playing with the members of the Calgary Chinese Orchestra, in celebration of the Lunar New Year.

Risograph originated in Japan during the 1980s, and a new movement of artists are redefining this printing technique, including Yolkless Press based in Calgary, Alberta. This short documentary highlights their artist-driven projects centered around the Asian diaspora experience, and how they provide a much needed platform for underrepresented voices.

Featuring and inspired by Karl Hirzer's track Daphne and Desmond, off his new album Relaxer Distractor, In Tandem is a love letter to the meaningful spaces between two cities, where Hirzer found sources of inspiration, nostalgia and the feeling of home. As both a pianist and conductor, Hirzer’s hands play an integral part in his artistic practice. This film captures his hands performing mundane activities in his daily life, while documenting the memories and spaces he’s leaving behind, becoming an intimate portrait of the artist at a transitional moment in his life.
