Gringo Paulista is a documentary film about the period of Mitar Subotić Suba’s life and work spent in Brazil (1990–1999). The film follows events in chronological order, from the moment Suba landed in Brazil until the release of the album *SUBA Tributo*, several years after his tragic death.

Two brothers quarrel for the love of a woman. One of them falls ill and dies; the other one marries her. The couple’s relationship falters in Paris due to the involvement of a reproaching mother, who still acts as if the dead brother were alive and living with her.
